Service Description: Within 5 business days after a quarterly release, in a participating quarter, VGIN GIS Analysts send a standard data request email to the localities in their areas of interest. Some localities have base data layers exposed as services and the data is downloaded from the geospatial portal. After data is received, updates are integrated into the individual base data layers. As GIS data is received by VGIN from local government GIS entities, a series of checks are performed on the jurisdictional submittal to note where data does and does not meet specific Virginia and Next Generation 9-1-1 data standards. Results are returned to the locality by VGIN staff. VGIN Base Map development databases are updated daily by VGIN GIS Analysts. In general, each data layer has a custom set of ETL tools which field map to the local government schema and then batch update the locality of interest.

Comments: Within 5 business days after a quarterly release, in a participating quarter, VGIN GIS Analysts send a standard data request email to the localities in their areas of interest. Subject: The VGIN data call process occurs bi-annually in January and July and within a 60 day window from VGIN staff to Virginia local government GIS divisions. A quarterly base map data release is finalized by an e-mail notification to the VGIN listservs.
